Assignments
The Live Boot Camp has a live coaching call for 8 weeks, one module per week (and you get access to the website for another 4 weeks). Please complete the assignments BEFORE the class of that week so that we can all discuss the material. For example, for Week 2, you need to do the assignments listed in Module 2 before attending the class that week.
Each assignment has a source: Links or Training. Links is the next section in this Road Map. Training means the main Training menu option listed on the Main Top Navigation menu next to My Account and Coaching. Go to the Training page to find all of our MasterClasses, Courses and Other Training.

About the How to Build a Thriving Church Series
This series was done as a whole originally, but has been split up into separate courses (“How to Be a Thriving Senior Leader,” “How to Develop a Compelling Vision & Mission,” “How to Develop a Powerful Leadership Team,” “How to Create a Dynamic Church Culture,” “Mobilizing Every Member for Ministry“) located in the Training page under Courses.
The notes are in each course lesson and can be downloaded. The notes from the entire series have been compiled in a single document located here (see following: “How to Build a Thriving Church – Leader Notes”).
The notes parallel the videos almost word for word, but with some added material including worksheets, charts and discussion questions. It’s optional but helpful to use these notes as you watch the videos.

4. Start Planning and Recruiting for Pilot Group Optional (depending on your schedule).
- Look at the Pilot Group Leader Guide and pitch document (Links)
- Decide when to do the Pilot Group, secure home/facility.
- Start the rest of this assignment 6-12 weeks before the Pilot Group starts.
- Start thinking about how to enable the leaders to do this by minimizing existing ministry requirements (clear the decks, put small groups on hold for 3 months while you do a special mid-week meeting, etc.)
- Arrange logistical support: child care, meals, etc. to ensure that the leaders can attend.
- Begin personally recruiting the 15-20 leaders (and if you don’t have enough existing solid leaders, recruit a few potential leaders).
