Free Church Growth Assessment
This assessment is short, only 5 questions, but it gives a very accurate view of how well your church is growing in quality AND quantity (reaching new people, and making godly disciples who serve). Be honest so you can get a reality check on how your church is doing. If you don’t have records, estimate.
1. Visitors Growth
Over the last 6 months, what is the average visitor’s attendance at your weekly service as a % of average total attendance?
(Example: you had 3 visitors a week on average, with 100 average in attendance, the Visitors % = 3/100 = .03 = 3%.)
2. Attendance Growth
Over the last 6 months, what is the increase in attendance at your weekly service as a % of total attendance?
(Example: If you had on average 100 in attendance six months ago, and have grown to an average of 110 people, the increase of 10 as a % would be 10/100 = .10 = 10%.)
3. Salvation Growth
Over the last 6 months, how many people became Christians through the church services, ministry or contacts with members, as a % of your average attendance?
(Example: If you have been averaging 100 people in attendance, and during the last six months 5 people became Christians, the increase % would be 5/100 = .05 = 5%.)
4. Discipleship
Over the last six months, on average, what is the % of your people who are being discipled individually with one-on-one meetings with another member or a leader, at least once per month?
(Example: If your attendance on average is 100 over the last six months, and about 30 people are being discipled with one-on-one meetings at least once a month = 30/100 = .3 = 30%)
5. Serving
What % of your people are serving with a team, group, department or ministry, at least once per month? Serving means they have a job, usually with a description; not just spontaneously helping.
(Example: If you have 100 people on average, and 30 of them are serving in some way at least once a month, the % = 30/100 = .3 = 30%)
